Kollu Rasam / Horsegram Rasam




Ingredients
Horsegram - 1/4 cup
Water - 3 cups
Tomato - 3 nos
Asafoetida - 2 pinch
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Sambar powder - 1 tsb
Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 2 pinch
Garlic - 5 pods
Black gram - 1/4 tsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Red chilli - 1 no
Curry leaves - few for frying and few fresh leaves to add later
Coriander leaves - few
Oil - 1 tsp
Salt - as per taste

To Grind: 
Garlic - 5 pods (2 with peel)
Pepper - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 3/4 tsp 
Red Chilli - 1 no
Curry Leaves - few

Method:
* In a microwave safe cup cook the horsegram for 3 mins. Once it cool, just take out the cooked horsegram and grind it. Now put into a coffee filter and add horsegram cooked water and filter the horsegram milk/water. 
* Cut 2 tomato into small pieces and cook it. (keep it in microwave for 2 mins. Then mash it well.add this with horsegram water. Add half of the above ground things,salt,chilli powser ,sambar,coriander powder,Turmeric powder. Keep it aside.
* In a stove top vessel heat oil, once it hear add mustered seed, urad dal,Asafoetida. Then remaining ground paste. fry it well. Then add 2 small onion,5 garlic pods,fry it for a while.Then add chopped tomato,fry it until the oil out.
* Now add the horse gram mixed water. Bring it to boil. Once it boil well add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
* Hot horse gram rasam is ready to eat/drink and enjoy with healthy food.

Note: You can have it twice a week in winter time. It will help to relief from cold,sour throat infection etc....:)
Note2: If you want more sour,you can add tamarind water.
