Banana Blossom Stirfry/Vazhaipoo Poriyal
Ingredients:
Banana flower Cleaned - 1 no
Red chillies (broken) - 4 nos
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Onion (big & chopped) - 1 no
Asafoetida powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Grated Coconut - 1 tbsp
Salt
Oil
To Make Powder:
* Pottukadalai (Roasted Bengal Gram) - 1 tsp
* Pepper corn - 5 to 7 nos
Method:
* Boil the banana blossom (cleaned) with salt,turmeric powder and enough water. Once it cooked, squeezes water and keep it aside.
* Heat enough oil, let splutter the mustard seeds,urad dal, add chopped onions, broken red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida one by one,fry everything well, Add cooked banana blossom. Then add ground powder, mix it all together. Finally add grated Coconut and put off the stove.
* Serve it hot.
