Drumstick_Leaves_Moongdal_Poriyal

Moringa or “drumstick” tree (moringa oleifera) an “all-natural multi-vitamin” and a natural energy booster.Its leaves contain high amounts of Vitamin A (four times more than carrots)Vitamin C (seven times more than oranges)protein (twice that of milk),iron(three times the iron of spinach), calcium (four times more than milk)
potassium (triple the amount in bananas), low in fat and carbohydrates.
The leaves and pods are highly effective in preventing/reversing vision related problems and respiratory ailments, especially in children.

Ingredients:
Drumstick - 1 bunch
Small onion - 10 nos
Oil - 1 tbsp
Red chillies - 5, or to taste, broken in half
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
asafoetida - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig, torn in half (optional
Moongdal - 1/4 cup
Salt to taste

Method:
* Remove leaves, wash and keep them aside.
* Heat oil in a pan/kadai, splutter mustard seeds, black gram dal, red chillies, curry leaves and little salt and asafoetida.
* Add Onions and fry it for a while.
* Then add green leaves and mix them well. If u want spinkle little water.Add salt.
* Once it's done add Cooked moong dal (Dal should not over cooked) and mix it well.

Note: This can be had for lunch and not for dinner as it will take some time for digestion.
