Palak_Paruppu


Ingredients:
Moong Dal - 2 cups
Palak - 3 cups (Cut it roughly)
Onion /or shallots - 2 nos / shallots - 5 nos
Tomato - 1 big size
Green chilli - 5 nos
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Curry leavs - few
Whole Pepper - 8 to 10 nos
cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tbsp
Turmeric - a pinch
Hing - a pinch
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp

Method:
* Cook Dal and Palak together with 3 cups of water. Keep it aside.
* In a small pan put the oil and when it is hot add turmeric powder and then the mustard. When it pops up, add Hing poweder. Now add cut onions,Pepper,Cumin seeds, Green chili and curry leaves and fry for a while.
* Now add Tomato and fry it well.
* Now add cooked Dal palak and mix it well. Add salt to taste.
* Just before switch of the stove add Ghee.
* Serve it hot.

Note: Goes with Rice, Dosa, Idly and Chappathi. Don't cook the dal and palak together in cooker.
