Ingredients:
Moong Dal - 1 cup
suran (jenakilangu) - 10 pieces
Ghee - 2 tsp
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Green chili - 4
Curry leaves - 5 nos
Garlic - 3 cloves
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
salt to test
For Seasoning:
Mustard - 1 tsp
Onion - 1
Red chili - 2
curry leaves - 5 nos
Method:
* Wash the Dal. In a cooker fry the Dal with Ghee till golden.
* Peel Suran and cut it as small cube.
* Add Suran and turmeric powder with fried dal and pour 3 cup of water. Leave 3 whistles.
* Mean while, Grind the folowing things together -coconut, green chili, Curry leaves and Garlic cloves
* Then mash the cooked dal and Suran. Keep it as low flame,
* Add the coconut, 1 cup of water and cook it for a while.
* In a kadai put the oil and when it is hot add the mustard. When it pops up, add cut onions and curry leaves, Red chili and fry for a while. Add it into dal masiyal.
* Cook it 15 min in low flame.
* Serve hot

Note: You can use Raw Banana instead of Suran. Serve it with chapathi or Rice.
