Snake gourd-Dal-kootu

Ingredients:
Snake gourd - 1
Bengal Gram (kadalai paruppu) - 1 small cup
Coconut - 3 tbsp
Onion - 1
Red Chili - 5
curry leaves - 5 nos
Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
Sambar powder - 1 tbsp
Mustard seed - 1 tsp
Bengal Gram (uluntham paruppu) - 1 tsp
Oil - 1/2 tbsp
Pinch of Turmeric powder
Salt to taste

Method:
* Cut the Snake gourd as small pieces.
* Soak that Bengal gram for a while.
* In a pan put the oil and when it is hot add turmeric powder and then the mustard. When it pops up, add cut onions, Red chili and curry leaves and fry for a while.
* Then add Sambar and Chili Powder, Fry it until the raw smell gone.
* Then add Snake gourd and Bengal Gram, Then fry it for 5 min.
* Sprinkled the water and close with lid. Cook it for 15 to 20 min in low flame.
* Once it cooked add coconut and take it out from the stove.
* Serve hot.
