Ingredience:
Raw Rice - 1 cup
Lemon - 1&1/2
Black Gram (uludham paruppu odachathu) - 3 tbsp
Green chili - 5
Mustard - 1 tsp
Turmaric powder - 1 tsp
Cashuew nuts - 10 nos
Curry leaves - 10 nos
oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method:
* Wash the rice. Add 2 cups of water and soak it for a while, then cook it (1 whistle is enough).
* Keep this rice as side and make it cool.
* In a pan Add oil, when it hot add mustard, once it pop up add turmeric powder.Then add Black Gram, fry it up to light golden color.
* Then add Green chili and cashew nuts.Fry it for a while.Add curry leaves. Now switch off the stove and then add Lemon juice and salt.
* Mix the cooked and cool rice with lemon juice.Add some Coriander leaves.
Note: 1. While adding the lemon juice the stove should be off.

I had a chance to taste this lemon rice.
ReplyDeleteLemon rice tasted very authentic maharastran style. To my suprise onion was not required for this dish preparation.
