Dill leaves: This chutney is given during post pregnancy (Postpartum). It is said to induce milk supply and increase body heat, so as to keep them warm,which is reduce the changes of getting cold and cough. It is also very high in fibre and hence good if u got haemorroids after delivery.
Ingredients:
Dill leaves - 1 cup
Garlic Cloves - 15 nos
Onion - 1/2
Green Chilli - 2 nos
Sambar/Curry powder - 1 tbsp
Coconut - 1/4 cup
For seasoning:
Whole garlic - 10 cloves
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Hing/Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Oil and ghee - 1 tbsp (each)
Salt to taste
Method:
* In a pan heat oil.Add Onion, Garlic and G.Chilli. Let it fry until turn golden.
* Then add dill leaves, fry it for 2-3 mins. Add coconut and sambar powder. Fry 2 mins. Make it as paste and keep it aside.
* In Pan heat oil and ghee. Once it hot add Fenugreek seeds,once turn light golden, add cumin seeds and Hing/Asafoetida. Then add Garlic cloves. Fry it until golden.
* Now add ground paste, Add salt. Cook it in low flame until oil/ghee separate from chutney.
* Serve it hot.
Note: It goes with Rice,Dosa and Idly :)
