Kuchi_Kizhanku_Masala (Maravalli_Kizhanku)


Ingredients:
Kuchi kizhanku - 1 no
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Red or Green chilli - 2 nos
Cinnamon stick - 1"
Cardamom - 3 nos
Cloves - 2 nos
Aniseed - 1 tsp
Bay leaves - 2 nos
Red chilli powder - 2 to 3 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Sakthi chicken masala - 2 tsp
Yogurt/curd - 1 cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Kasthuri methi powder - 1 tsp
salt to tast
oil - 2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp

For Grinding:
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Cashew nuts - 5 to 8 nos

Method:
* Boil the Kuchi kizhangu and cut as square.Keep it aside.
* Grind the above ingredients as a paste and keep it aside.
* In a cooking vessel heat oil and ghee. Once it hot add aniseed,Cinnamon,cardamom,bay leaves and let it fry for 1 min.
* Then add onion, fry unit it transparent.Then add tomato, add little salt and mix it well. Let it cook for 2 to 3 min. Close it with lid.
* Once tomato cooked well, add chilli powder,coriander powder and chicken masala. Fry it until raw smell is gone.
* Add ground paste with little water and let it boil for a while.Then Add cooked kuchi kizhanku and mix it well. let it cook with masalas.
* Then add curd/yogurt, mix it well. Close with lid and let it cook in low flame.
* Then add milk and kasthuri methi powder. Switch off the stove and keep it for 2 min in hot stove stand.
* Serve it hot with pulka,Nan,chapati and so on.
