Ginger_Kuzhambu
Ingredients:
Small onions - 15 nos (with outer skin)
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Asafetida - 1 tsp
Moong dal - 4tsp
Garlic pods - 6 (with skin)
Tamarind paste-1tbsp
Turmeric powder-1tsp
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil-1tbsp
For grinding:
Ginger-1 big piece
Curry leaves - 20 nos
Coriander seeds - 2tsp
Pepper corn - 1tsp
Cumin seeds - 1tsp
Red chilles- 1
Method:
* Grind above the ingredients as paste and keep it aside.
* Heat oil in a pan add Mustard, fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds and turmeric powder. Then add moon dal.Now add garlic pods and fry it until light golden.
* Add onions, fry until brown.Now add the ground masala fry it till oil separates.
* Add the tamarind water,close with lid.Let it cook until thick.Garnish it with curry & coriander leaves.
