onion_Chutney_For_Idly/Dosa

Ingredients:

Shallots - 3 nos
Yellow Onion - 1 no
Red chilli - 4 nos
Garlic - 2 nos (option)
Tamarind - a small gooseberry size
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt to taste

To Temper: 

Mustere - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Assafetida - a pinch
Red chilli - 1 no
Curry leaves - few

Method:

* In a kadai heat oil and add the onion, fry till golden brown then add red chillies,curry leaves and tamarind and fry for 3mins.
* Cool down , add required salt and grind it to a fine paste. 
* Heat oil in a kadai - add the items listed under 'to temper' and transfer it to the chutney.
Serve it with idly/Dosa/Chappati
