Thattapaiur_Suraikkai_Kulambu


Ingredients:
Thattapaiur - 1 cup
Suraikkai(Pinchu) - 1 no (cut it as a small)
Sallots (Small onion)- 5 nos
Red chilli - 5 nos
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Coconut - 3 tbsp
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - pinch
Tamarind - lime size
Curry leaves - few
Garlic - 2 nos
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seed - 1 tsp
Salt - tp taste

Method:
* Soak the thattapaiur atleast for 2 hours and cook it (with little salt) in a pressure cooker until 6 to 7 whistles.
* Soak Tamarind in hot water and extract thick pulp.
* In pan add little oil and fry onion, Red chilli and Cuminseed.
* Make it cook, add coconut, Poppy seeds, Coriander powder, Garlic and Grind it well.
* In a small pan put the oil and when it is hot add turmeric powder and then the mustard.When it pops up, add curry leaves and suraikkai. Fry it for 5 min
* Then add Grind masala. allow to cook it for a while.
* Then add Tamarind extract and cook thattapauir. Cook it 5 min.
* If u want to add little Ghee and switch it off.
